This small pack of cat litter pads ensures comfortable use in a dual-layer litter box for up to two months, assuming it is used by an average-sized kitty. However, depending on the cat’s weight and individual needs, the lifespan of each pad can vary. Assuming that 10 pee pads for two months serves as a reliable average estimate.

Operating Instructions:

Preparation for Use:

  1. Unfold a new urinal pad.
  2. Smooth out the pad with your hands to remove any creases from folding.
  3. The pad is elastic, allowing you to stretch it lengthwise and widthwise if needed to fit the tray.
  4. Place the pad with the absorbent side facing up in its designated spot.
  5. Ensure the edges of the pad are facing upwards and snugly fit against the tray edges.
  6. Smooth out the pad to prevent liquid from leaking over the edges.

Changing the Pee Pad:

Typically, you’ll instinctively know when it’s time to change the pee pad by observing it. Ideally, replace the pad when it becomes full but before any liquid spills out during removal.

To determine when to change the pad, lift a corner and slightly bend it. If liquid squeezes out from the absorbent material at the bend, it’s a sign the pad is full and needs replacing.

If you’ve changed the pad in time and no liquid spilled during removal, you may not need to wash the pad tray since the urine hasn’t touched the plastic.

However, if urine did touch the tray during the change, wash it with soap or a disinfectant cleaner.

The urine pad is 100% waterproof. If you find liquid underneath, there could be one of three reasons:

  1. The pad wasn’t smoothed out properly, causing liquid to overflow the edges. Ensure the pad is flattened well when installing a new one.
  2. You forgot to change the pad, leading to overflow where liquid spills over the edge.
  3. The bottom waterproof layer of the pad is damaged and has a hole.

Additional Instructions:

Rotate the urine pad tray 180 degrees halfway through its usage period. Cats often urinate in specific spots within the litter box, causing urine to accumulate more on one side of the pad. Rotating the tray ensures even distribution of liquid across the entire pad surface.

The lifespan and absorbency of each pad may vary. Absorption effectiveness is influenced by humidity, air temperature, and the composition of the cat’s urine (salts, bacteria, etc.).

If you notice odour from the pee pad before it’s fully saturated, seek advice from the seller. Consider using a specialized urine pad deodorizer, which breaks down urine compounds, prevents the deterioration of absorbent materials, and helps eliminate odors, thus extending the pad’s lifespan.
